A Wonderful Surprise...When I started painting this piece, I suddenly came up with the idea of a kitten breaking the paper to come out. Everything was going well until I was stuck. I felt that something was missing because the painting looked half empty. And as creativity finds you while creating, I remembered the bows I loved so much as a child. Those that the lady at the gift shop would tie when I was going to buy something to gift. Sometimes I just asked her to wrap it so I could see her hands move with such ease that it was like seeing them dance with the ribbon. This painting reminded me of such a beautiful memory.
